Peter Khamvongsa, MD

Dr. Peter Khamvongsa is a Georgetown-trained physician and the Medical Director of The Miami Institute for Women’s Health. A former United States Navy Commander, he completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the Bethesda National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed Hospital.

He is the only physician to hold four board certifications across Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, and Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery. His practice focuses on advanced treatment of endometriosis and fibroids, hormonal therapy, weight management, and cosmetic gynecology, supported by extensive training with leaders in the field.

An international presenter and published author, Dr. Khamvongsa also serves as an Associate Professor at Florida International University and NOVA Southeastern University. He is fluent in Spanish and French, is learning Italian, and is the father of five.
